Mother-Baby Center

Today the directors of the three projects that will be housed in the former Pioneer Camp met to discuss the first rough draft of the architectural renovations. We looked over the plans together and made some decisions about how to divide the MBC from the children’s rehab center, and we agreed to use a portion of the building for a large hall that we can all share. We each have until next Tuesday to come up with our requirements for our portions of the buildings. On that day, we will all meet again with the architect who is designing the plans. Right now, demolition of parts of the building is going on.

Pray for us! Here’s an example of what I’ve been looking at:

This letter is from Doran Richards, who is coming here in a few short weeks to do a conference for me, for Ukrainians, for the Lord. Read and pray!

Dear Friends and Family of Blessing God’s Way,

We are so excited about the upcoming trip to the Ukraine! October is right around the corner. Anne Sokol and I are thrilled to be planning, arranging schedules and organizing elements of this opportunity to be with Ukrainian women and families. God has blessed this trip so much that I cannot even begin to express how much in mere words. I do want to share with you some testimony from three women, intricately involved in this ministry – to share with you their passion for what God has called Blessing God’s Way to do and accomplish in His name. I pray it blesses you as it did me. I am still in tears when these ladies sent me their “blurbs” to add to this letter to you. I simply asked them to give me a sentence or two to help the public see our need, see our vision and to consider donating to this mission trip and cause. Please read to the bottom – it is worth it! This is what they wrote:

“Ladies, as a long time supporter and representative of Blessing God’s Way, I extend to you this appeal. Many of you have already sent support, and continue to pray and give as the Lord leads. For that, we are deeply thankful. But the Lord convicted me that although I may have already given, that I need to give again! I heard that voice, “Do I really need to go have a pedicure? Must I have a Starbucks Venti Mocha with a double-shot of espresso?”
No, I don’t. The reality is that for that small cost, a young girl in the Ukraine can have the truth set before her about God’s design for her body. I believe that this is way more important than my “American” needs that I constantly rationalize in my mind. A small gift of $5 or $10 would fill the great need that this mission trip still requires. Would you please pray right now and ask the Lord to show you if He would have you to give?
Also, I think that many of us that are passionate about this ministry may think of Blessing God’s Way as a “curriculum”, a “conference”, a “celebration”, or many other “things”, as did I. But then I asked God – what is it really? What does it mean? He showed me that the conference, the curriculum, the celebrations are all great things and honorable, yes. But that He really wants ME to be those things. He wants me to BE a blessing God’s way! Blessing God’s Way is me. Blessing God’s Way is you. I believe the heart and soul of this ministry is really about Jesus Christ in and through us blessing others. It is about us, as women, being totally surrendered to His Spirit to do great things in the lives of others.”

Will you join me? Please read this appeal…

To Be A Blessing God’s Way

Come now, Spirit, reveal your truth
Of woman, her legacy, design and worth
For what, Creator, declares your glory?
From rib— to woman tells your story.

Not lust of flesh, nor pride of life,
Vainglory, sensuality, nor strife;
Not dread, anxiety, fear or pain
Not shunned, confused, oppressed, or shamed.
But woman, I’ve made you to be
A testimony of love, of Me

Maiden flower, blossoms wide
Child and woman awkwardly collide
Crimson red by cycle flows.
Draw near to Me, pour out your woes;
Hear my voice, be virtuous today
Exalt me and be,
A blessing God’s way

Mother, stretch your faith and trust
In I, your Lord— my grace is enough.
Sit at my feet, and sup with me;
Life grows within you, a miracle you’ll see.
Women to mother, come alongside,
Labor, pray, and fortify.

Oh, life! How fearfully and wonderfully made!
For second birth, my Son, he paid.
On Christ’s behalf, behold a babe!
Now to your breast, may this child lay.
Trust me and be,
A blessing God’s way

O woman, ripened now with years,
Who cycled, birthed and loved with tears,
Tarried on through harvest, stretched forth your hand,
Served others faithfully, by His command.
Far wiser, more beautiful, refined, and true,
God’s great commission extends to you.

Will you surrender, commit to be,
My daughter, obedient, and teach others of me?
Adorned with good works, beautified, purified,
Holy as I am, mentoring life;
Lift high my name, and you will see
Your body, your purpose, I’ve created for me
To glorify my name, draw near the lost
By blood to blood, a sobering cost.

Christ, take my heart, to you I give
Prayerfully, on knee, I pledge to live
Speak now, Spirit, what can I do today?
To pass on the legacy
Of Blessing God’s Way?

Blessings, Michele Wheaton, Representative, Blessing Gods Way

And now, my faithful American/Ukrainian friend writes to you:

“A young man wanted to build a large shelter for homeless people, and he had all the bricks needed for the job. The only difficulty was that the huge load of bricks was one mile away from the property. As he cast about for how to move the bricks, a man stopped and asked what he was doing. The young man explained his plan and predicament, and the man asked if he could help by carrying one brick from the pile to the property. It was along the road he was walking anyway, he explained. Only one brick? the young man thought, but he agreed to the man’s offer. Soon another passer-by saw the man take the brick and start walking, so he asked what was going on. The young man explained again, and the traveler said that surely he, too, could quite easily carry a brick to the property. Then another man stopped, then another. . . It was a busy road with many travelers, and before he knew it, the young man had handed out so many bricks, his load was quite small! He hefted the few leftover bricks on his back, and when he arrived at his property, sure enough, there was his huge load of bricks waiting to be built into a shelter.That’s a simple story, but it illustrates the opportunity before us here in Ukraine. Doran and I are working hard to build something great for women here in Ukraine. They are getting incredible information and materials about their bodies and souls. Topics like menstruation and menopause are rarely addressed, especially from a Biblical viewpoint. And the midwife coming with her will have great opportunities to share midwifery-style teaching and care to women and birth professionals here! Some parts of the work are too heavy for us to carry alone. Translating and printing materials is relatively cheap, but it quickly adds up. Let me give you some concrete examples. Translation of the Maidens by His Design workbook, teacher’s guide and Powerpoint presentation costs $80. Translation of conference advertising and Rachel Himelright’s My Personal Proverbs is $115. One translator for two days of Doran speaking is $125. Those are only a few of the things we are making available to the people here! We have lots of bricks to carry! We need your prayers, and if you can help us build by carrying a brick or two, you will be taking part in a great work!”~ Anne Sokol, Ukrainian missionary

Now a word from Blessing God’s Way Representative and dear friend:

“I am convinced that Blessing God’s Way can make a positive impact in the lives of women all over the world, including in the Ukraine. It is essential for these women to have the education and materials that can be provided by this organization. A proper understanding of childbirth and women’s cycles will serve to be amazingly profitable in their future health, and will help them to make decisions that will restructure their whole lifestyle in invaluably advantageous ways.” -Rachel Himelright, Author of My Personal Proverbs

Ah, what beautiful words of testimony – I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I praise GOD for His goodness and mercy that endures forever! I am hoping that after reading this, you will be moved to donate one small donation to this trip. You can do it one of three ways:

1. Go online and donate with paypal here (see right side bar)
2. Send in a small donation to Post Office Box 59, Front Royal, Virginia, 22630
(All checks should be made out to Blessing God’s Way.)
3. Hand it to me the next time you see me!

Please, pass this on to people who may have a desire to give – and know that we thank you with all our hearts for the prayer coverage and the well wishes for this trip and how it will affect the Ukrainians!

Thank you and may the LORD bless you all, and keep you,

Vitaliy brought home a bunch of food stuffs from his recent trip home. Our bounty included a big bag of potatoes, of course. This morning, he made breakfast, so he taught Skyla to peel potatoes with him. Not sure how much she actually peeled, but she enjoyed the experience.

yesterday camping

Yesterday afternoon/evening, we went to the river with the youth from church. The weather has been stifling hot the last few days, so we were all glad to relax and cool off a little. Vitaliy had fun with the girls; Skyla has gotten over her fear-of-water phase, and she had a blast on the air matress. Vika still won’t go on it; i guess we’ll wait for next summer for her 🙂
